CONGRATULATIONS TO CARL VIK!
McAuley Award Recipient

Each year the EISC gives out The McAuley award, named for one of the founders of the club, Jack McAuley. The award is given to a member of our club who has over time given tirelessly of themselves to the East Islip Soccer Club.  This years winner is Carl Vik.  Of the countless things Carl has done for our club, our clubhouse stands as a lasting tribute to his time and dedication.  Carl oversaw its construction from beginning to end.  It would not be there today were it not for his vision and commitment.  Thanks you Carl from all of the members of your East Islip Soccer Club.  Carl is pictured here receivng the McAuley award from EISC president John Davis.

CULTURE CHANGE

The East Islip Soccer Club has long been one of the most respected soccer clubs on Long Island. 2010 brings a renewed commitment to our clubs tarnished excellence in the area of player development and overall education. EDUCATION is the mantra for the future. This education is for players, coaches and parents. While we’ve always had training programs we are putting in new efforts to ensure better quality. This is step one of player education. We are focusing on individual player development and mastering the ball. All of our new trainings will be making this a priority. Step two is coaches education. All coaches in the EISC will have a progression of soccer education trainings. At the earliest levels we will provide ’in house" coaching sessions. The club will commit to having regular LIJSL D-C-B courses and paying for them. The coaches will be expected to make use of them accordingly. Step three is parent education. This could be perhaps our biggest challenge. We believe that the parents need to be better informed on the trainings and dealings throughout the club. We will be having regular town hall meetings to address this issue. The soccer world has become a runaway freight train. "Super teams" at seven years old is the new mantra. The club wants to participate in giving our players every opportunity to be a great soccer player on a great EISC soccer team however our intention is to do this through "mass" trainings not seven year old super teams. We will be assuming oversight on all intramural training. Every age group will be offered training on a yearly basis [now including Winter and Summer]. Our intention is not to be big brother rather to make sure we offering training to the masses. Embracing this thought process is paramount to a new culture in East Islip. We as a group need to place our overall emphasis on player development and NOT winning. We are inviting you to participate in a new era in the East Islip Soccer Club. The future is now...

PASS IT TO PLAYERS

Hi my name is Krista Pacillo. I am a 16G year old soccer player and the founder of an organization called PASS IT TO PLAYERS. What we do is collect gently used soccer equipment and donate it to any person, team or club that can’t afford it. With the holidays coming to an end I’m sure there was a lot of new soccer equipment under the tree. With that I am sure there will be a lot of last year’s equipment that will never be used again. Will you donate to a person that would love to have it?

We don’t buy anything, we don’t sell anything, we just collect it and give it away. No cost, no strings. We don’t even charge for shipping. So if you can help or know someone who has a need please contact me at BUSYBOSSMAN@GMAIL.COM

THANK YOU!
Krista
