Kyle Engblom is an eleven year old boy that suffers from an undiagnosed, degenerative disease that greatly affects his muscles. Kyle’s condition started when he was three and has gotten progressively worse over the last eight years. Kyle frequently visits doctors from all over the country for a diagnosis. Despite his physical condition, he has an amazingly strong spirit and always has a smile on his face. The family uses vacation time and other personal time to take Kyle to all the Doctor visits necessary. Kyle attends Timberpoint Elementary School here in East Islip and requires the assistance of an aide to get from place to place, but he never lets his challenges impede his progress. He continues to join in on all the great offerings of the school such as the choir, and the trial of Goldilocks all the while supporting and rooting his favorite Lacrosse team, the LI Lizards. Kyle has been to John Hopkins and other various well established medical establishments but has not yet been able to identify the affliction that he suffers from. We are hoping that in some small way we may help him to enjoy a few days and assist his family in some financial relief.
